My photographic journey began with my mom’s phone when I was a kid. I held her phone and shook it, producing images of trees, rocks, and grass that looked more or less indistinguishable from each other, which, according to Dad, is called abstract expressionism.

In middle school, my parents bought me a real camera. A really nice one, too, with so many buttons, I didn’t know what to do with it.

It was in high school that I learned the how-to from Mr. Hunt, whose first quiz of the year saw Cs and Ds from everyone. But Mr. Hunt did not lower his expectations –– instead, he raised them. It’s because of that, perhaps, that my classmates and I would learn so much in our four years of SM Photo.

Since I owe all this to them, I dedicate my website to Mom, Dad, and Mr. Hunt.
